About Us

On January 1, 2020, the West Souris River Conservation District (formed 1995) and the Turtle Mountain Conservation District (formed 1978) merged to form the Souris River Watershed District.

The Souris River Watershed District envisions a healthy, sustainable and diverse landscape capable of providing economic, social and environmental benefits for current and future generations. The district works to achieve this vision through progressive, community driven efforts dedicated to raising awareness about sustainable land and water stewardship practices and providing incentives for conservation programming. Programming is directly tied to the unique priorities of the West Souris River and East Souris River integrated watershed management plans.
