Each September students from schools within the Watershed District take part in a Land & Water Day at the Cherry Point Park.  Volunteers from Virden Collegiate, Manitoba Sustainable Development, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation, Critical Wildlife Habitat Heritage Corporation, Oak Lake – Sifton Fire Department, Brandon Search and Rescue, and Nutrients for Life. Students spend the day rotating various stations learning about: Water quality, soil heath, invertebrates, furbearers, trees, water safety, safety in the outdoors.
